Evidence-Based Literacy Instruction (EBLI) is an evidence-based reading and spelling approach that teaches students how spoken sounds connect to written letters. Unlike traditional reading programs that focus on memorizing rules, EBLI helps students understand the logic behind the English language, making it easier to read, spell, and write with confidence.
Using explicit, systematic instruction, EBLI strengthens phonemic awareness, decoding, spelling, reading fluency, and comprehension. It is effective for students with Dyslexia, struggling readers, and anyone who needs a stronger foundation in literacy.
The Barton Reading and Spelling System, often called the Barton Reading Program, is an evidence-based, multisensory literacy program designed specifically for students with Dyslexia and other reading difficulties. Influenced by the Orton-Gillingham approach, it provides explicit, systematic instruction in phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, spelling, and reading fluency. The program builds a strong foundation in literacy by teaching concepts in a structured sequence, helping students become accurate, confident readers and spellers.
The Orton-Gillingham Approach is a structured, explicit, multisensory way of teaching reading, spelling, and writing, designed specifically for individuals with dyslexia and other language-based learning disabilities. It is not a program. It is not a workbook. It is a way of teaching that is rooted in how the brain actually learns language.

Our Online tutoring is provided on KoalaGo tutoring platform through one-on-one instruction with a live tutor who your student will work with on a regular basis. Students can interact with the instructor, use digital activities, play engaging and education games and practice typing.
All of our new students start with a 3D Learning Profile evaluation as part of their onboarding process, however, we do not provide official diagnoses or formal assessments. Evaluations are used to gauge current reading, spelling levels or math knowledge.

We tutor students from 1st grade to adults. It's never too late to improve reading and spelling. Our programs are suitable for teens and adults.
No, we do not assign homework. We provide strategies for parents to support their child at home.
We recommend a multisensory, hands-on curriculum with engaging, interactive activities. If you’d like, we can provide a curated list of trusted resources and curriculum recommendations. Yes. Following your child's personalized learning plan we'll recommend the ideal instructional program based on their age, learning profile, goals, and area of need.
Online tutoring is different in format, not in quality. We use the KoalaGo platform, which allows live, interactive sessions that are very similar to in-person tutoring. Students type instead of handwriting, which often reduces frustration and helps them focus on learning. We still use multisensory, hands-on methods for dyslexia and dyscalculia, and sessions are fully individualized to each student.
Every student's learning journey is unique. Most students begin showing measurable progress within the first month of consistent instruction. Some students reach their learning goals within 9–12 months, while others continue building skills over a longer period based on their individual needs and instructional program. Our goal is to help every student make measurable academic growth, develop strong reading and spelling skills, and become a confident, independent learner. Many of our students ultimately achieve several years of academic growth and reach high school-level reading proficiency.
Technology can be very helpful for students with dyslexia, however, it’s a support, not a replacement for instruction. The biggest gains come from explicit, structured teaching. Technology works best when it’s used strategically to reduce frustration and increase access, especially for reading, writing, and organization.
Most students only need a computer, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet learning space to participate in their online tutoring sessions. Depending on the instructional program your child is enrolled in, there may be a few additional materials needed to support hands-on learning. Some students may be asked to have one of the following setups: Option 1: Touchscreen Laptop or Chromebook + Stylus A touchscreen device with a stylus allows students to write naturally during interactive parts of the lesson. Touchscreen laptop or Chromebook Stylus (approximately $8, or use one you already own) Option 2: Drawing Tablet A drawing tablet connects to a Mac, Windows computer, or Chromebook and allows students to write directly during lessons. Drawing tablet (approximately $27) Option 3: USB Document Camera + Dry Erase Board This setup allows your Learning Specialist to clearly see your child's work while they write. USB document camera (approximately $32) 12" x 16" dry erase board and dry erase markers (approximately $19).
